With the help of the magnifying glass or the optical microscope, the larvae of the different species of mosquitoes will be classified, determining at the same time their larval development. This element is essential for its subsequent treatment.
It should be mentioned that not all species are aggressive to man, therefore not all will be subject to control.
These data will complement the prospecting sheet carried out on the ground and will feed into the specific database that manages the general operation of the service year after year.
Depending on the species present and its degree of larval development, it will be controlled.
In the laboratory, identification tasks are also carried out on the adult mosquitoes captured in the annual adult control program, which ultimately show us the evolution of the pest throughout the year.
Small internal work is also carried out or in collaboration with other organisms, always related to insects and the physical-chemical characterization of our larval foci.
Throughout the campaign, more than 10,000 specimens of mosquitoes are analyzed both at the larval and adult levels.
