Baix Ebre waste consortium facilities
In Baix Ebre, the MSW Transfer Plant is operational, located next to the old La Aldea Controlled Waste Deposit, currently closed. The controlled deposit of the Village served several municipalities in the Baix Ebre region until the end of 2006. The final result, once it was closed, has been the creation of an environmental park, the first in the entire Spanish State to he used crushed end-of-life tires to make the surface water drainage layer from his old reservoir. This action avoided extracting and transporting 9,000 cubic meters of gravel.
The rest of the municipalities of Tortosa, Ametlla de Mar, Deltebre, Ampolla, El Perelló and Camarles arrive at the Waste Transfer Plant.
The waste is unloaded and transferred to boxes with large moving floors of 60m3. In this way, they are transported in large-capacity convoys over long distances to the waste treatment site, located in the Tivissa Controlled Deposit.
