The CODE Sanitation Area, since 1997, is the technical body of the Baix Ebre County Council and the Montsià County Council in matters of sanitation. The county councils are, by municipal delegation, the acting Administration in the matter of wastewater sanitation and, for this reason, the CODE was one of the promoters of the creation of the county sanitation services to manage, operate and maintain the systems sanitation facility built by the Agència Catalana de l'Aigua.
