Definition of waste centres
According to Law 6/1993, of 15 July, regulating waste, the landfill is defined as: "The center for the reception and storage, selective, of municipal waste that is not subject to home collection." To achieve preventive and participatory management, the landfill service must operate as a center for reuse and recovery of waste, and as an environmental education facility.
Waste centres
There are currently 12 waste centres in operation in the Montsià region, one per town, and in the Baix Ebre there is one in Tortosa, Roquetes, Deltebre, l'Ametlla de Mar, El Perelló, Ampolla, Camarles and Aldea, and one mobile for in the other small municipalities and the districts of Tortosa.
