The COPATE (Consortium of Environmental Policies of the Terres de l'Ebre) was born from the desire to give continuity and consolidate the actions that the regional councils of the Terres de l'Ebre have developed over the last 25 years. Actions that have been aimed at providing content and sufficient economic and technical scale to local competencies in environmental matters.
COPATE arises from the merger of five pre-existing consortia in the Terres de l'Ebre. The Baix Ebre and Montsià Agro-environmental Services Consortium (CODE) is a consortium established in 1992 to solve the mosquito problem in the Ebro Delta, and which has It has evolved to become the technical instrument from which the actions in health, black fly control, waste and sewage management, energy efficiency and the management of certain aspects of the landscape and the natural environment of these regions have been sustained. . This consortium merges with the Consortium for the management of Montsià waste, the Baix Ebre Waste Consortium (received), the Consortium for the management of the Sierra de Cardó-Boix and the Montsià Natural Spaces Consortium to give place in the new entity in environmental management in Terres de l'Ebre, COPATE.
